Biggest ever trade mission kicks off in Brazil

The biggest ever Dutch trade mission – a 170-company delegation – heads off for Brazil on Monday under the leadership of trade minister Liliane Ploumen, Nos television reports.

The mission is accompanying crown prince Willem-Alexander and princess Máxima on a six-day official visit to Brazil, the sixth biggest economy in the world.
The Netherlands currently has a trade deficit with Brazil and imports far more than it exports to the South American country. The Netherlands sends Brazil mainly oil products and chemicals but they account for just 0.5% of total exports. The Netherlands imports food, meat and iron ore from Brazil.
Brazil is hosting the football World Cup in two years’ time and the Olympic Games in 2016.
