Customs officers at Amsterdam Schiphol airport arrested two men last weekend who were caught smuggling €348,500 between them.

On Friday a Czech man in transit for Lima was stopped with €198,500 in 500 euro notes.

On Saturday a customs officer discovered €150,000 in the hand luggage and pockets of a Nigerian travelling to Barcelona.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
