Anouk to represent Holland at Eurovision Song Contest

Anouk, one of the country's most popular vocalists, will represent the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden in 2013.
The rock singer confirmed her decision to take part on Wednesday on her Facebook page.
In July, Anouk said she had a 'killer song' for the contest, but tv company Tros, which broadcasts the event, was not enthusiastic. It wanted the usual programme in which the Dutch entry would be chosen by public vote.
Talks between the two have now resulted in the decision to ditch the talent contest, RTL news reported.
The Netherlands has failed to qualify for the finals of the Eurovision song contest for eight years in succession.

Actually I quite liked this years song from The Netherlands, but it got nowhere, didn't even make the final, the UK song was even worse, but because we are among the BIG 3 the UK are always represented in the contest even if the song gets NUL POINTS.s Good luck to NL for 2013

Nothing against Anouk, she's terrific talent, but I thought this was an amateur contest. It would be a terrible ego buster if she entered and then did not win. The Netherlands has had such lousy songs and performers... with Anouk they have a real chance.

I'm not going to lie. I hate this Anouk girl. Her voice is terrible (it gives me a headache). And her music .... it's just wrong and isnt going anywhere, i cant listen to her. you better off with Caro Emerald. (If you wanna win)

Quince, this has never been an amateur contest. Katrina and the Waves? Blue? Engelbert? Sandie Shaw? Lulu? Cliff Richards? I don't think so...
