Policeman, two others found dead in house with marijuana plantation

Sunday 09 September 2012

Some 20 police officers in Gelderland have begun a major investigation after the bodies of two men and a woman were found in a house in the village of Kekerdom near the German border.

One of the three victims is a 59-year-old policeman from the local force who lived alone in the house where the bodies were found.

The relationship between the policeman and the two others is still being investigated, the police statement said. Neighbours told the Telegraaf the woman was the police officer’s ex-girlfriend and the man her new boyfriend.

Marijuana

According to Nos television, police also found a marijuana plantation on the property, but the broadcaster did not give any further details.

The street has been sealed off and forensic experts are at the house. It is unclear if there is any connection between the deaths and the marijuana plantation, Nos said.

Police have not said how the people died but told news agency ANP there does not appear to be a link between the man's position as a police officer and the killings.
