Police find €500,000 in cash in a car, two arrested

Friday 07 September 2012

Spot checks on cars in Amsterdam’s Pijp district on Thursday night resulted in a haul of some €500,000 in cash, news agency ANP reports.

The money was found in the boot of a car. A 19-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were arrested.

Police are carrying out security checks in the Pijp over a three-month period in a bid to reduce crime and confiscate illegal weapons.
