Internet banking fraud rises 14% in first half

The damage caused by internet banking fraud rose to €27m in the first six months of this year, compared with nearly €4m in the year-earlier period, the Dutch banking association said on Wednesday.
Cyber criminals are increasingly able to steal bank details using software known as malware which can be used to glean log-in details and other confidential information, the NVB said.
The amount of damage caused by skimming, or producing copies of bank cards, fell by 25% to just over €18m over the first six months. It is the first time reports of this sort of fraud have gone down, probably due to the introduction of chips in bank cards, the NVB said.

The latest con was phony Western Union asking me to go to a site & fill in private details as they have lost my details..lol, I have no account with them, IGNORE & DELETE! :D
