Election: Labour wins in cities, but not in Urk

The PvdA is the biggest party in all four big cities, with 36% of the vote in Amsterdam, 29% in The Hague, 26% in Rotterdam and 29% in Utrecht.


The VVD is second in all four, with its best result, 25%, in The Hague. Support for the PVV in Rotterdam fell from 19% to 11% but it remains the third party.
The PvdA was also biggest in Tilburg, Eindhoven, Groningen and Nijmegen. The VVD won in Breda and Den Bosch.
Absolute majority

The VVD won more than 50% of the votes in two locations: Laren and Wassenaar.
The fundamentalist Christian SGP had an absolute majority on the former fishing island of Urk, where the PvdA recorded its worst result – just 1%.
The PvdA did best in Veendam in Groningen, where it won 41% of the vote.
