Dutch in fifth place on household wealth listTuesday 18 September 2012 Dutch households are the fifth richest in a survey of several dozen countries by an insurance company, with average wealth of €61.315 per person. The survey of the 52 countries, carried out by insurers Allianz, shows total household wealth at €103.3tn. The figure is calculated by deducting household debt from assets. Compared with growth of 8% to 9% in 2009 and 2010, the increase in wealth in 2011 was virtually unchanged, because of the euro crisis and the state of the economy. Savers are paying for the crisis through uncertainty on the financial markets, low interest rates and the lack of a solution for the euro crisis, Allianz's Michael Heise told Nos. The richest people live in Switzerland, followed by the Japanese, the Americans and the Belgians. Feeling less wealthy? Have your say in the comment box below. © DutchNews.nl
Less wealthy, hell no! When I go to visit my girlfriend I feel like a king..when I return back to NL I feel even more wealthy. I count my blessings as I know for a fact that we have all been spoiled for a long time, having seen the poverty 1st hand, that many of us never have to see except on TV.
