Dutch airspace to be rejigged to cope with extra traffic

Dutch airspace is to be divided up differently in an effort to allow Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport to cope with more flights, junior infrastructure minister Joop Atsma tells the Telegraaf on Monday.
Flight paths to Schiphol are to be separated from regional and military air traffic, which will reduce waiting times and landing delays, the minister says.
The measures will allow Schiphol to grow from 437,000 take-offs and landings a year to 510,000 by 2020, the paper says.
Regional airports Lelystad and Eindhoven will also be able to grow to 70,000 flight movements a year, the minister said.
