Brabant farmers ignore environmental rules
Tuesday 18 September 2012
Farmers in Brabant province are breaking environmental rules on a massive scale, according to research carried out for the provincial government.
Of the 627 cattle farmers surveyed, over half are not following the rules, and at 38 of these farms serious violations were found, reports Nos television.
In particular, they did not have proper equipment in place to reduce air pollution, the inspectors found. In addition, many of the stalls on the farms were not built in line with environmental regulations, says Nos.
The researchers advise the provincial government to increase the intensity of farm visits.
