A 17-year-old youth has been fined €220 for kicking a hedgehog on the Wadden Sea island of Vlieland, news agency ANP reports.

The youth kicked the animal so hard it ended up in the neighbour's garden, who called the police. The hedgehog survived the assault, ANP said.
