Prince Willem-Alexander on Sunday congratulated the Dutch team for their performance at the Olympic Games in London.

On the Twitter page of the royal family, the prince tweets: 'My congratulations to all the Dutch Olympic athletes. You all did fantastically well.'

The prince, the only Dutch member of the International Olympic Committee, was at the Olympic Games with his family for several events last week.

The Dutch athletes return home on Monday by train, arriving at Den Bosch station at around 4 pm where a welcome home party is being held.
