Liverpool snaps up Heerenveen striker Assaidi
Friesland football club Heerenveen has sold striker Oussama Assaidi to Liverpool for an undisclosed transfer fee.
Amsterdam club Ajax was also interested in Assaidi but was unprepared to pay the high price, according to media reports.
The 24-year-old Moroccan international has turned out 79 times for Heerenveen in the past three years and scored 20 goals.
His departure means Heerenveen has now lost its entire successful front row from last season. Luciano Narsingh has gone to PSV Eindhoven and Bas Dost has moved to VfL Wolfsburg.
