Ikea becomes a Dutch brand

The Ikea brand name has been bought by the Dutch company Inter Ikea Systems in Amsterdam, the company announced on Thursday.


Inter Ikea Systems, which has been at the heart of the self-assembly furniture giant since 1983, is buying the brand name internally from the Liechtenstein holding company Interogo for €9bn.
Interogo is the owner of Inter Ikea Systems, which holds all the franchise agreements with Ikea stores around the world.
