Gang of 12, mostly from same family, arrested in Tilburg drugs raids

Police in Tilburg have arrested 12 people, mostly from the same family, in a major investigation into drugs dealing in the southern city.


Twelve houses and three garages in Tilburg were searched, as was property in Zeeland province during the raids, which also involved army technical experts and dogs, the public prosecution department said in a statement.
In total, police recovered €800,000 in cash, much of which was hidden in ceilings and buried in a garden. They also found 300 litres of liquid amphetamines, 100 kilos of marijuana, marijuana plantations and weapons, the department said.
Three holiday houses, 28 bank accounts, 10 vehicles, jewelry and expensive watches have also been sequestered as part of the investigation, which was carried out by a special police taskforce focusing on organised crime.
