Elections: entrepreneurs lose faith in politicians

Wednesday 29 August 2012

With the election just two weeks away, a survey of 10,000 entrepreneurs by the national chamber of commerce shows 57% have little or no faith in politics.

And while eight out of 10 think politics impacted on their company this year, only 3.7% think this had a positive effect. A further 45% think political strategy has been 'mostly negative', the KvK survey shows.

'With 1.5 million companies and 860,000 freelancers, the entrepreneur as voter forms a very important target group for political parties,' the KvK said. 'The results show the parties have a lot of missionary work ahead.'

Some 75% of those polled said they would focus on what parties have to offer industry when choosing who to vote for. In addition, 73% said policies on Europe were key.
