DE Master Blenders moves onto AEX, TomTom downgraded

Friday 31 August 2012

Coffee and tea company DE Master Blenders is to replace satnav-makers TomTom on the Amsterdam stock exchange blue chip AEX index in September.

The former Douwe Egberts returned to the Amsterdam beurs in June, 34 years after its takeover by US food giant Sara Lee. Analysts had expected the company to qualify for an early inclusion in the AEX, reports news agency Novum.

TomTom has been downgraded to the Midkap, following a sales drop of 31% in February. Cable company Ziggo, which debuted on the stock exchange in March, also joins the Midkap index.

The new listings come into force on September 24 and the main index revision takes place in March.
