Aegon sees net profit halve

Insurance group Aegon saw net profit halve in the second half after setting aside €265m in the second quarter in compensation for profiteering policies.

Net profit over the six month period rose 6% to €775m and sales grew by 26%, the company said on Thursday.
Much of the sales growth came from the US where Aegon sold more pension provisions and increased its capital management client list.
