The Netherlands' smallest school closes down
Wednesday 18 July 2012
The Netherlands' smallest school closes its doors for the last time today, because falling pupil numbers have made it financially untenable.
The Hunnedal Christian primary school in Groningen province has just five pupils. A few years ago it had 40.
Not only are there few young families in the village, but the families there are want their children to go to a bigger school 'with more friends', director Kees Bouwma told the Telegraaf.
