Teaching assistant at blind school arrested for child abuse

A teaching assistant at a school for blind and partially sighted children has been arrested on child abuse charges, the public prosecution department said on Monday.

The man, 27, was arrested at the end of June on suspicion of abusing six under-age children at the school in Huizen.

The police have began a ‘far-reaching’ inquiry into events at the school, the department said in a short statement.
