Official property valuations fall again
The official valuation of property, used to calculate property taxes, dropped again to an average €232,000, the central statistics office CBS said on Tuesday.
Official valuations (woz) are made by local councils based on various aspects such as the size and age of a property and the sale price in the neighbourhood.
It was carried out on January 1 2012 and shows a fall in value of 2% compared with the year-earlier period.
The valuation is used to determine property taxes (ozb) and water charges, as well as the extra fee all home owners pay.

The fall in value was steepest in the Montferland council area in Gelderland, where the average price was 9% down on 2011, says the CBS
Just 2% of councils saw values rise, among them Amsterdam where values rose from €249,000 to €250,000.
The province of Utrecht has the highest woz value at €276,000, and Groningen the lowest at €175,000.
The most expensive council is Bloemendaal where house values are an average €630,000. Heerlen is the cheapest at €133,000.
