TNS Nipo poll puts Socialists and VVD neck and neck

The Socialist Party and right-wing Liberal VVD are neck and neck in the latest TNS Nipo opinion poll, with three months still to go before the general election.

The poll says both parties would win 29 seats if there was a general election tomorrow – a gain of 14 for the SP and loss of two for the VVD.
Trailing far behind in third place is Labour on 20, down from 30 in the current 150 seat parliament. Geert Wilders’ PVV is on target to win 19, a loss of five.
The Christian Democrats have recovered slightly from their dismal poll position in recent weeks and would take 18, still three down on their June 2010 total.
The VVD and CDA form the current minority government.
