Rus is sole Dutch Wimbledon survivor
Arantza Rus is the only remaining Dutch player at the Wimbledon tennis tournament in London following Kiki Berten’s 6-4 6-4 defeat by Jaroslava Shvedova in the second round.
Bertens, 21 and competing in her first Wimbledon, put out number 19 seed Lucie Safarova in the first round.
Rus beat number five seed and US Open champion Sam Stosur in three sets on Wednesday.
The only Dutchman in the contest, Robin Haasse, lost in the first round.
