Former police officer and MP to lead FNV union federation

A former military police officer and MP has been nominated to take over the helm of the country’s biggest trade union federation, the FNV.


Ton Heerts will take over the FNV when Agnes Jongerius steps down at the weekend and will also lead the new-look union group when the reforms are finalised, news agency ANP reported.
Heerts has a long history of union involvement and was an MP for the Labour party beween 2006 and 2010.
