Floriade organisers give in: you can have your chips

Friday 01 June 2012

The organisers of the Floriade horticultural show in Venlo have given in to public pressure and agreed the catering companies can sell French fries after all.

French fries and other greasy food had been banned from the show, which runs until October 7, because the organisers wanted to promote a healthy image.

'But we have had so many remarks from visitors that they miss their chips, we have had to give in,' a spokesman is quoted as saying by Nos television.

The fries will be cooked in 100% vegetable fat in an effort to be as healthy as possible.

Yay! I visited the Floriade and found the catering lovely (if pricey) but I think there is defintely a market for frites so good on them for making the change!
