Dick Advocaat returns to PSV

Thursday 10 May 2012

Football club PSV Eindhoven has signed Dick Advocaat as its new coach, replacing interim manager Phillip Cocu. Cocu has been at the helm since Fred Rutten was sacked earlier in the season.

Under Cocu, PSV won the Dutch Cup and were runner up in the premier division, giving them a place in the Champions League preliminary competition next year. Cocu hopes to train junior teams again next season.

Advocaat, currently coach of the Russian national squad, has signed up for one year and will take over after the European Championships. He trained PSV between 1995 and 1998.
