Another housing corporation boss is arrested in fraud probe

The head of Breda-based housing corporation Laurentius has been arrested in connection with an investigation into controversial property transactions, Nos television reports on Wednesday.

Director Walter V was also suspended by the supervisory board following a probe into property deals which he is thought to have personally benefited from financially, Nos says, quoting inside sources.
The investigation, believed to centre on a property developer responsible for a number of new housing projects, was started following tip-offs.
Laurentius has been in financial trouble for some time following declining property sales and is under special supervision from the home affairs ministry.
Housing corporations Rochdale, SGBB and Vestia were earlier under investigation for irregularities.
