Warm weather forecast for a busy weekend

The start of the spring holiday at the weekend and Queen’s Day next Monday are forecast to be warm, with temperatures reaching 25º in some parts of the country. However, there are likely to be thunderstorms, weather forecasters said.

Motoring organisation ANWB has warned the roads are likely to be busy with people heading off for the spring break. According to the Netherlands Tourism Bureau, nearly two million people will go away for their holiday, although just over half of them will stay in the Netherlands.
The most popular destinations abroad are France, Germany and Belgium.
