Sensitive medical information hidden behind simple password

Confidential medical records belonging to thousands of people in Brabant were easily accessible on a website for medical professionals, local broadcaster Omroep Brabant reports.

The information came from a laboratory which carried out blood and other tests and was uploaded on the Cyberlab website. But Cyberlab users were able to access the test results using a simple password and find out, for example, if patients were HIV positive.
The leak was discovered by a member of political party 50Plus, the broadcaster said.
β€˜It is ridiculous,’ said 50Plus leader Henk Krol. β€˜I could see exactly which patients had used alcohol or drugs.’
The Cyberlab website has since been taken off air.
