Patient aggression may boost cost of healthcare

Aggressive patients who demand doctors and dentists carry out treatment may be partly to blame for rising healthcare costs,

Research among 990 healthcare providers by medical sector support organisation VvAA, shows that one in five have referred patients to another specialist because they had been intimidated by patients.

In particular, 82% of family doctors have had to deal with aggressive patients.
