Dutch private investors look abroad

Dutch private investors currently hold less than half their investments in the Netherlands, according to a new report from ING.

The financial services group says 46% of Dutch private investors now focus on the Netherlands, compared with 75% two years ago.
This means the proportion of total privately invested assets in the Netherlands has gone down from 55% in 2010 to around one-third of the total.
ING said the decline may be due to the poor performance of the Dutch stock exchange, which has lagged behind other countries over the past 10 years, news agency ANP reported.
