Dutch institute helps Microsoft in fight against child abuse

The Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) is working with the American software company Microsoft to develop a fully automatic computer system that will trace child pornography.

The NFI is helping Microsoft develop search software that can look through enormous quantities of files at top speed for images of child abuse, says the Telegraaf.
The Dutch institute is the only government organisation Microsoft is using for the development of this software, the paper says.
The software is expected to become the global standard for police vice squads and to be adopted by the Dutch courts, the Telegraaf said.
