Big companies sound alarm about poor PostNL services

A number of large companies are sounding the alarm about the poor delivery service offered by PostNL, particularly in Noord-Brabant and Utrecht provinces, the AD reports on Monday.

The two provinces are testing grounds for a new delivery system which the company is planning to roll out nationwide. PostNL’s works council says the programme should be halted until problems have been ironed out, the AD says.
Online retailer Bol.com CEO Daniel Ropers told the paper: ‘We have noticed the delivery of our products is not going well. We have been in talks with PostNL and they have taken temporary measures to improve delivery services.’
ABN Amro bank, energy firm Eneco and a number of health insurance companies have also expressed concern.
A company spokesman said PostNL recognises there have been teething problems but told the paper ‘everyone is working flat out’ and things are improving.
