Abercrombie & Fitch set for Amsterdam?

Real estate industry sources say there is a serious chance that American clothing group Abercrombie & Fitch may open its first store in the Netherlands by moving into the Metz & Co building on the Leidestraat shopping street, the Financieele Dagblad reports.

Metz & Co said earlier this month they are moving from their classic department store building into smaller premises.
Metz director Gerard Koolbergen told the paper the renovation of the building will take at least a year. ‘I am not going to say anything about the new tenant apart from that we were approached by a lot of parties,’ he told the paper.
A spokesman for the Ohio based clothing group said on Tuesday the company is planning to open a shop in Amsterdam this autumn.
