Threats to MPs drop dramatically

Tuesday 20 March 2012

The number of threats made to politicians dropped considerably in 2011, according to a special police team set up to deal with MPs' safety.

In 2008 the team investigated 304 serious threats against ministers and MPs but last year the number had dropped to 107.

Even threats to anti-immigration PVV leader Geert Wilders have dropped considerably, says the team.

The threats often come from school pupils who do not realise what the consequences are for themselves and the victim, the AD says in its reporting.

Well if this is the case then maybe Wilders will give up his 24 round the clock security which cost the tax payer millions every year.I doubt he wont hough it will take away that feeling he has about being important.
