Ten Dutch children were on tunnel crash bus, fate unknown

Ten Dutch children were among the 52 people on board a Belgian bus which crashed into the wall in a Swiss tunnel on Tuesday night, killing at least 28.

The Dutch children attended the two primary schools which were using the bus to return from a skiing holiday. All but one of them lived in Belgium, Dutch media said.
It is not yet clear if any of the Dutch children are among the 22 killed and identification is proving difficult, news agency ANP reported.
In addition, 24 people were injured in the crash. Three are very seriously ill in Swiss hospitals with head wounds and chest injuries.
The children, all aged around 12, attended the Stekske primary school in Lommel, close to the Dutch border and the St Lambertus school in Heverlee, near Leuven.
