Taxi war looms at Schiphol Airport

A taxi war looms at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport where unlicensed drivers are ‘stealing’ passengers from the licensed drivers, according to local television station AT5.

Drivers pay €3,600 a month for the right to pick up passengers at the airport. Drivers without a licence are not allowed to work there but do so anyway, AT5 reports.
The licensed drivers claim they are losing around 170 trips a day as unlicensed taxis eat into their business, says AT5.
This has led to a tense atmosphere at Schiphol. Last week there was a confrontation between licensed and unlicensed drivers, the broadcaster says.
