Seven Dutch children among Swiss bus crash dead, three injured

Seven Dutch children are among the 28 people killed in Tuesday night’s bus crash in a Swiss tunnel, according to media reports on Wednesday evening.

The three other Dutch children on the bus are among the 24 injured, Nos television reported. Three of the injured are very seriously ill in Swiss hospitals with head wounds and chest injuries.
The Dutch children attended the two primary schools which were using the bus to return from a skiing holiday. All but one of them lived in Belgium, Dutch media said.
The bus hit the wall of the tunnel near Sierre, in the Swiss canton of Valais, close to the border with Italy at around 9pm. Both drivers were among the dead, as were four other adults.
