Queen, princess thank everyone for support for prince Friso

Wednesday 28 March 2012

Queen Beatrix and princess Mabel have sent a letter to the people of the Netherlands thanking them for their support following prince Friso's skiing accident.

Friso was hit by an avalanche during a skiing holiday in February and is now in a coma in hospital in London. It is likely he may never recover.

'The fact that so many of you shared our concerns in you hearts has deeply affected us,' the letter said. 'All the supportive words, wishes of hope... prayers and flowers have helped us to deal with these difficult times which are full of uncertainty.'

Mabel and the couple's two daughters live in London.

Love never dies. You will always have that, Princess. Your husband will still love you even if he can't express it.
