Growing numbers of people cannot pay their bills

Friday 16 March 2012

A growing number of people are unable to pay their bills, the family finance institute Nibud says on Friday.

Around 30% of people are behind with payments and 70% have debts in more than one area.
In 2009 that figure was 56%.

Not only are people in the red, but automatic payments are being cancelled and demands for payment of the rent or mortgage are being ignored, says the Nibud.

How is anyone surprised by this?

And if the government thinks this will get any better by cancelling the tax relief on houses then they are very wrong.

Looks like the new trend for many including the USA. Doesn't matter if you planned & spent wisely, invested in higher education - the slow economy is affecting many families and it doesn't look like its getting better any time soon. The new retirement age could reach 80.

And, in the midst of this, our government puts into motion legislation whereby orthodontists and dentist are able to raise their prices.
Then, to make matters worse, they create extra costs for mental healthcare leaving a vulnerable group of citizens to fend for themselves. We need to get rid of this government... now!

Time for many to learn to 'live within your means' and avoid financial ruin. Live a financially responsible life and don't try to keep up with the Joneses or the Hiltons.
