Bringing back stranded helicopter to cost €21,000

Bringing back the remains of a helicopter captured by Libyan soldiers last year during an abortive rescue attempt will cost €21,000 defence minister Hans Hillen told MPs on Wednesday.

Three members of the Dutch armed forces and their Lynx helicopter were seized in March 2011 during an attempt to rescue two people who had become stranded in the port city of Sirte.
The helicopter has been on the beach since that time and is no longer able to fly. It will be brought back to the Netherlands and dismantled, Hillen said.
