AZ Alkmaar extended their lead at the top of the Dutch premier division in this weekend’s football action, while Ajax of Amsterdam moved into second place. But FC Twente and PSV Eindhoven both lost ground on the leaders with defeats.

AZ moved three points clear at the top of the Eredivisie with a 2-0 win at De Graafschap.
Ajax moved into second place with a comfortable 3-0 home win over RKC Waalwijk in their fifth successive league victory.
But FC Twente are now in third after a 3-1 defeat at NEC Nijmegen. And PSV Eindhoven moved down to fourth after losing 3-1 to NAC Breda.
