Sharp rise in New Year bankruptcies
The number of companies which went bankrupt in January was up 42% on the same period in 2011 at 1,024, according to new figures from financial research group Graydon.
Graydon expects some 11,000 firms to go bust over the year, up around 1,600 on 2011.
