Labour up two, PVV down two in latest De Hond poll

Job Cohen’s decision to step down as Labour leader boosted the party’s performance by two seats in the latest Maurice de Hond opinion poll published on Sunday.

At the same time, the anti-Islam PVV lost two seats, after gaining four the previous week on the back of its website to report problems with central and eastern Europeans.
The De Hond poll puts the VVD liberals and Socialist Party both on 32 seats, with the PVV on 22, Labour on 16, the D66 Liberal democrats on 17 and Christian Democrats on 12.
De Hond also asked his panel who should take over from Cohen as Labour leader. Diederik Samsom emerged as top of the list, with 34% support, while Ronald Plasterk was second with 29%.
The poll took place before Nebahat Albayrak came forward as the fourth candidate for the job.
