Hackers break into defence ministry video conferencingFriday 24 February 2012 Hackers can easily break into the supposedly-secure video conferencing system used by the defence ministry, using the standard password contained in the manufacturer's instructions for use, the Volkskrant reports on Friday. Cyber crime specialist Rickey Gevers told the paper he was tipped off by hackers grouping Anonymous and showed reporters how he could open the in of a senior defence ministry official. From there he could see the official had used the video conferencing system at least five times. No conversations were listened to, the paper says. The official's email address list and defence ministry IPS address lists were also visible, the paper says. A defence ministry spokesman told the paper the ministry had already warned officials the system could easily be hacked into. 'And that would seem to be the case,' the paper quoted him as saying. © DutchNews.nl
