Four arrested in Canada in Amsterdam daycare abuse case

Four men have been arrested in Quebec on child pornography charges connected to the Amsterdam daycare abuse scandal, according to Canadian media reports.

The four men, aged between 29 and 60, face a range of charges that include producing, possessing and distributing child pornography, local media said.
The charges stem from a tip-off by Dutch police that the men had links to Robert Mikelsons, the former Amsterdam daycare worker at the centre of a major abuse scandal.
Mikelsons, 29, a Latvian national, was arrested in December 2010. He faces 67 charges of abusing very young children in his care, either while he worked in a daycare centre or as a private babysitter.
Three men in the US were arrested in connection with the case at the end of last year.
