Dutch stay at home for spring holiday

Fewer people will be travelling abroad during the spring holiday this year, the Netherlands Tourism Agency (NBT) said on Tuesday.

The agency expects 700,000 people to holiday abroad, 100,000 fewer than in 2011.
The number of Dutch people taking a holiday in the Netherlands remains the same, at 700,000.
The Dutch are taking fewer holidays, travelling less far and spending less during their holiday because of the financial crisis, says the agency.
The spring break falls between February 18 and March 4 this year.
