Collector pays €2,100 for first edition Suske en Wiske

A Dutch collector has paid €2,100 via an online auction for a first edition comic featuring the popular Belgian cartoon duo Suske and Wiske.

The first official Suske and Wiske adventure was published in 1946 and cost 36 Belgian francs. In that edition, Suske was called Rikki, but his name was changed in later issues because it was too similar to Kuijfe (TinTin) .
Just 7,000 copies of the first edition, about a tank which could end war, were printed so they are a rarity, ANP said.
