Black ice warning on many roads
Monday 13 February 2012
Motorists in the south of the country have been warned of black ice on the roads as the thaw sets in following the big freeze.
A code red weather warning for the entire country was withdrawn around 08.30 hours, as the expected traffic chaos failed to emerge. By 09.30, the warning was still in place for Limburg and parts of Brabant.
The KNMI weather bureau had expected black ice over much of the country, and said the problems would be compounded by mist and fog in some places.
