ABN Amro to close 160 branches: Telegraaf

Nationalised bank ABN Amro is planning to close around 160 of its 460 branches by 2015, and 60 are scheduled to shut down this year, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.

The paper bases its claim on an interview with Paulus de Wilt, the head of ABN Amro’s retail banking services.
De Wilt told the paper the branch closures will not affect customer services because the bank plans to improve its digital operations, make financial advisors available across the country and send staff on direct visits to clients.
